Seviyan Kheer Recipe - How to Make Sewai


Seviyan Kheer Recipe ( vermicelli pudding ) is the most favorite recipe in the sub-continent on the Eid festival and is served before going to the mosque for Eid Prayer. Seviyan recipe has many variations and it is cooked in different ways. These are prepared in milk using a lot of dry fruits. It is a quick and simple recipe and can be ready in minutes. I will explain how to make these sewai recipe at home in an easy and quick way.

Seviyan Recipe Ingredients

We need the following ingredients for the recipe.

  • Milk 1 ½ liter
  • Thin Seviyan 4 tbsp
  • Olpers milk 1 packet ( 250 ml)
  • Powdered Milk 1 packet ( 2 tbsp )
  • Sugar 4 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder ¼ tsp
  • Almonds and coconut powder 

How to make Sewai: Method

  • Take milk in a wok and add thin seviyan, Olpers milk, powdered milk, and cardamom powder in it. When milk boils let it cook on medium flame for 15 minutes.

  • At this stage, add sugar and cook for a further 10 – 15 minutes. 

  • When it thickens as shown in the video, remove it from.
  •  
  • Pour into a bowl and let it cool in the fridge for two hours. 

  • Now garnish it with almonds and coconut powder.
  • Serve chill.
